The Nanotechnology Institute (NTI) has announced new funding solicitations for 2010.  There are three program categories:

1) Program to Support Translational Research (PSTR) – provides grants of up to $60,000 for Phase I projects, and up to $120,000 for Phase II projects. PIs must have clearly identified and documented industry partners. Proposals must be aimed at advancing the commercial potential of nanotechnology-based intellectual property from NTI member institutions. Pre-proposals for the upcoming round are due on April 15, 2010; final proposals will be due on June 1, 2010. A second round of proposals will be considered six months later.

2) Sponsored Research Agreement (SRA) Match Program – provides up to $50,000 in matching funds to Sponsored Research Agreements with private companies to support institutional research that advances commercialization of nanotechnology. Round one proposals are due on April 15, 2010. A second round of proposals will be considered six months later. All proposals eligible for consideration must be based on an existing SRA between the company and the academic institution.

3) NanoApplication Fund (NAF) Program – provides up to $50,000 loans to small Pennsylvania companies to support research that advances the commercial potential of nanotechnology. Collaboration with an NTI Institution is required. (RFP coming soon)
